Yes, it’s that easy.
Jesus talked about money. A lot.
Sixteen of the thirty-eight parables were concerned with how to handle money and possessions. In the Gospels, an amazing one out of ten verses (288 in all) deal directly with the subject of money. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,000 verses on money and possessions.
Jesus repeatedly made it clear that where you invest your money and resources reveals where your heart is. Listen to his words here:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)
When you give online to the JAX Church, you are investing in the mission.
The mission of Jesus.
A mission that brings light into the darkness of hearts and heals the sick.
God’s nature is to be generous in every way, and to seek the good of others. There is nothing than to see God’s people following that example, having freely received His grace, love and forgiveness.
Giving is a hallmark characteristic of followers of Jesus. We reflect God, and it exercises our faith to let go and trust God.
Ironically though, we are happier when we have a spirit of generosity and giving.
‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35 (NIV)
“One person gives freely but gets even richer.
Another person doesn’t give what they should but gets even poorer.” Proverbs 11:24 (NIRV)
Where are you investing your ‘treasures’?
Don’t sit on the sidelines. Cheerfully invest in the mission today.
